Sergio Perez says that he will be looking to attack from lap one and limit the damage he might take to his title challenge at the Canadian Grand Prix, with him starting P13.

The Mexican slid off of the tarmac and into the barriers at turn three during Q2 of qualifying in Montreal, red flagging the session and bringing a premature end to his day.

Certainly, he’d have been hoping to be in the top four given the pace he has got in the Red Bull but it wasn’t to be and, with Max Verstappen in P1, the challenge for Perez is to try and limit the damage as much as possible that might be inflicted on his championship battle.

Speaking post-qualifying on Saturday, he said he’ll be on the front foot from the off on Sunday:

“A mistake from my side, so I’m very sorry for my team,” Perez told Sky.
