Christian Horner calls on FIA to look into Super Licence stance

Christian Horner has expressed his hopes that the FIA will review their Super Licence points structure to allow drivers like Colton Herta an easier route to Formula 1.

Red Bull’s sister team AlphaTauri were linked considerably with a move for the American driver earlier this month but that potential switch from IndyCar to F1 for Herta now looks to be off of the table, at least for now.

Indeed, he only has 32 points out of the required 40 you need to attain the FIA Super Licence required to drive and compete in the Formula 1 world championship and it’s been ruled that he could not join the series for 2023 as things stand.


That caused quite the storm across the pond with many feeling as though IndyCar is underweighted in the points system that the FIA has in place, and it would appear that Horner would echo those sentiments, with him telling the Beyond the Grid podcast before it was fully…
