Max Verstappen will lead the field away on Sunday at the Canadian Grand Prix, with Fernando Alonso excitingly alongside him heading into turn one.
The Dutchman managed to master the wet conditions in Montreal to set himself up beautifully to try and capitalise on Sergio Perez’s off in Q2 and Charles Leclerc’s grid penalties, with them set to line up P13 and P19 respectively.
Indeed, Max looked very strong in the damp Montreal environment and was over six tenths quicker than the man in P2 – a driver that goes by the name of Fernando Alonso.
The Spaniard has been quick all weekend and has finished inside the top five in every practice session in Canada, with him topping FP3, and that form continued as he underlined his class on Saturday to earn his first front row start for a scarcely believable ten years.
