McLaren Racing team principal Andreas Seidl has suggested that major upgrades might well have to wait for the MCL36 now, with the team looking to try and extract as much as it can from the current package they’ve got.

McLaren have been a little up and down this season in terms of performance, with high points coming at the likes of Melbourne with a double points finish and Imola where Lando Norris got his car on the podium.

There have been low points too, though, with Montreal last time out an example of that with no points to show for either Norris or Daniel Ricciardo’s efforts, whilst the Bahrain Grand Prix at the start of the year was also a painful experience for fans of the Maccas.

It’s a season of learning for the team, though, thanks to the new rules and regulations introduced for 2022 and, indeed, Seidl’s comments suggest that they are looking to try and learn more about what they have and how to fine-tune that, rather than…
